American doctors reported on the benefits of drinking a glass of water before meals. It turns out that consuming 200 ml of fluid before eating aids in weight loss, improves digestion, and reduces the risk of diabetes and heart disease.
Doctors in the United States conducted a study involving 50 people aged 55-75 years old. The participants were divided into two groups. The first group drank water before meals, while the second group abstained from fluids before eating. The experiment lasted three months and surprised doctors with the results.
Over 12 weeks, the first group lost an average of 5-7 kg without changing their lifestyle or food preferences. The weight of the second group remained the same.
Based on the results, doctors concluded that water speeds up metabolism by improving digestion. The fluid reduces the risk of obesity, which is one of the main causes of diabetes and heart disease. It should be noted that doctors recommend drinking no more than one or two glasses of plain still water before meals.
